Gucci Mane, the stage name of Radric Delantic Davis, was born on February 12th, 1980, in Bessemer, Alabama. His father, who was accused of drug smuggling at the time of his birth, was living in Detroit, Michigan at the time of his birth.

That time, his mother was in college and his grandmother took care of him while he grew up. When his half-brother took him to a Run-DMC, Beastie Boys, and LL Cool J concert, he was introduced to the world of hip hop music.
